US Government Shutdown Vote Looms
November 13, 2025The United States government shut down on October 14, 2025, after the US Congress failed to approve a budget proposal. As a result, most federal public services have been suspended, and federal employees have not received salaries. The release of several key economic data reports has also been halted.
Negotiations have progressed, with Republican and Democratic senators reaching an agreement on a temporary budget. The House of Representatives will convene tomorrow evening to vote on the temporary budget.
The potential resumption of government operations could invigorate markets. The US Senate has already approved the budget bill intended to end the shutdown, sending it to the House.
The House vote is scheduled for tonight at 03:00 CET. If all Republican representatives support the bill, it could pass without Democratic support. Following approval, the bill will be presented to US President Donald Trump for his signature. Trump is widely expected to sign the bill, a statement he made on Monday.
The reopening of the US government and the resumption of salaries for federal employees could stimulate capital flows into markets. The cryptocurrency market is closely monitoring the situation.
