Strategy Accumulates 8,178 Bitcoin
November 17, 2025Strategy, known for its consistent Bitcoin purchases since 2020, acquired 8,178 BTC last week. This marks the largest Bitcoin purchase since July. The acquisition cost $835 million, with an average purchase price of $102,171.
Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 649,870, with an overall average purchase price of $74,433. The company has invested $48.3 billion in Bitcoin acquisitions to date.
Michael Saylor, founder and chairman of Strategy, confirmed the purchases and denied speculation of sales. He stated, “No, we did not sell. We bought Bitcoin every day. We will announce on Monday.”
Over the weekend, reports surfaced alleging that Strategy had sold a portion of its Bitcoin holdings. Chain analysis indicated a transfer of over 40,000 BTC to different addresses.
Saylor’s comments followed a controversial social media post depicting himself appearing to abandon a sinking ship. The post included the hashtag “hodl,” suggesting that no sale had occurred.
The acquisition highlights Strategy’s continued commitment to Bitcoin as a primary asset. Further details regarding the purchases are expected to be released on Monday.
