FTX Expected To Issue Another Altcoin Payment Wave
November 10, 2025FTX is anticipated to distribute another round of payments to creditors in January 2026. According to Sunil, the creditors’ representative, the exchange has already completed three payment cycles, returning a total of $7.1 billion.
The first distribution occurred on February 18, totaling $454 million, followed by $5 billion on May 30, and $1.6 billion on September 19.
FTX’s assets are estimated to be between $16 and $17 billion, primarily composed of digital assets and altcoin investments. Sunil stated that the next payment wave is scheduled for January 2026, contingent on the confirmation of a “record date” in December.
The upcoming distribution cycle may involve the repricing of creditor claims based on altcoins. The valuation of FTX’s remaining assets and prevailing market conditions will significantly influence the size of the January 2026 payment.
Experts suggest that continued bullish trends in the crypto market could lead to higher-value altcoin distributions in the next payment cycle. The ‘record date’, confirming eligibility for the payment, is expected to be finalized in December. The value of these altcoin payments is subject to market fluctuation.
The timing of the next payments remains closely tied to the valuation of FTX’s digital asset holdings.
Creditors are advised to monitor the process and any updates regarding the record date and payment schedule.
